England x Reader Part 1: The Meeting

You were in your room doing whatever you do and your boss comes in and says that you have an urgent meeting with one of the countries that you haven’t met before. Even though you have been a country for a long time, you were the country that would mind your own business since you didn’t want the drama and arguments and all that crap.

You finally reach the building with y¬our boss in your fine formal clothing and light make-up on. You walk into the building and start walking down the hallway to the conference room. You REALLY didn’t want to go, all you wanted to do was to go home and get on your laptop and watch funny videos on YouTube and eat pocky (you LOVED Japan’s pocky).

While you and your boss were walking down the hallway, you were giving your boss the stare of a lifetime and it said “Why the fuck am I here?!?! Can I go home now? Shit let me go home!!”.

Your boss finally noticed you looking like that, stopped for a moment, and looked at you.

“Why are you looking like that? Throw a smile on your face and be happy.” He said.

“But I’m not happy…at all.” You said.

“Why are you so called ‘not happy at all’ then?” with his fingers in quotation marks.

“You don’t notice? Okay let me tell you. You drag me here to this so-called ‘urgent meeting’ with this country I don’t even know with his or her-“

“His.”

“His yeah whatever and his boss at all and you want me to throw a smile on my face?!?! You must be out of your mind. ”

“Stop with that nonsense young lady. You have to go because they’re making an important trade with us and I’m not letting this go. Do you want to broke? I don’t think so.”

“Why can’t you just go by yourself and say that I got sick or something. I’ll be happy at home with my laptop, you’ll be happy with your trade. Problem solved.”

“If you say anymore I’ll make you give up your laptop for two months. Besides, you need to be more social and have friends so then we can be with good terms with these countries.”

“I like being antisocial thank you very much. My laptop IS my friend and only one. What happens if this doesn’t even work out well? Can I go home now?”

“No, you’re not going home (f/n) and let’s hurry up before we’re late. They didn’t just fly here to breathe in the atmosphere from here, now let’s go” he said grabbing your wrist and dragging you to the conference room.

You finally make it to the conference room door and let you go from his grasp. You wanted to turn around and leave but he grabbed your wrist swiftly and quickly. He gave you a stare that said “No. Stay.” You actually decided to stay and didn’t want to deal with that nonsense as he opened the door and let you go in first. You gave him an ugly stare, threw a smile on your face (like he told you to), and walked into the conference room with him behind you.

When you walked in, you saw two men stand up from behind the table out of their chairs. You didn’t care how the old looking boss looked like, but you saw a young man beside him. He was tall compared to you, he had blonde hair with punk rock type of hairstyle, beautiful emerald eyes, but what stood out the most were those big black bushy eyebrows. But shit, they looked fine on his face. No joke. Anyways, you walked in and you shook the boss’ hand as he introduced yourself as you did also. Then you shook the young man’s hand as well.

“Arthur Kirkland, you can call me England. What’s your name, love?” he said introducing himself.

“(f/n) (l/n), you can call me (country). Nice to meet you England.” You said with a smile on your face, not fake, but genuine.

“Nice to meet you also (f/n).” he said with a smile on his face bigger than before.
Then you were about to sit down at your seat next to your boss, Arthur came over and pulled your seat out for you.

“Let me help you with that love. That’s what a gentleman should do.” He said while pulling your seat out.

You looked at him as if he’s crazy, but then you accepted his offer and sat down. He pushed your seat in under the table.

“Thank you.” You said staring at his emerald orbs.

“You’re welcome, love.” He said staring back at you (e/c) orbs.

When he went to his seat and that’s when the meeting officially started.

The meeting was officially over and your boss’ plan of trading actually did work (damnit). So your boss and Arthur’s boss left the room before you and Arthur could talking about whatever old men talked about. You were still busy organizing and packing up papers from the meeting while Arthur was doing the same. When you were done putting the last few papers into your briefcase, you got up and started walking up to the door when Arthur called you.

“(country) wait!”  Arthur called.

“Yes England,” you turned your head around.

“Since our countries were are going to be partners, we should get more acquainted………like being…..well……….friends, if you don’t mind.” He said kind of nervous.
There was a long pause in the room until you said something.
“Yeah of course. My boss says that I need more friends anyway. He says that I’m ‘antisocial’.” You said with your fingers as quotation marks as you said antisocial.

“Well that’s….good. When do you want to meet some time?”

“We can meet this Saturday if you’re free?”

“Yes I am. Can I have your………number? Just for contact of course.”

“Yeah, sure ya can.”

As you two exchanged your numbers, you both said your goodbyes and left the conference room. You thought as you left the conference room that this wasn’t a waste of time after all.
